Information

ATG8 is commonly associated with double-membrane autophagosomes. However, ATG8 conjugation to single membranes (CASM) happens in a variety of non-canonical autophagy contexts. However, whether plants also have CASM as a part of their quality control arsenal remain unknown. Here, I will present my recent findings on this non-canonical ATG8ylation pathways, the molecular players involved in this process, and the physiological processes employing CASM.
