Information
Protein-protein interactions (PPIs) in the apoplast play pivotal roles in plant-pathogen interactions. Within our research group, we predict and investigate PPIs in the apoplast to better understand plant defence strategies and to devise effective and long-lasting disease management tactics. AlphaFold-Multimer enabled the identification of novel inhibitors targeting plant immune hydrolases, showcasing the potential to develop durable disease management strategies at unparalleled speed and scale.
My presentation will highlight these discoveries and the challenges of high-throughput predictions with AlphaFold-Multimer, emphasising AI's potential to revolutionise PPI studies and disease resistance research.
