Information

Liquid chromatography (LC) is a fundamental analytical technique that plays a critical role in scientific research and industrial applications. The technique has undergone significant advancements that enable highly efficient, more sustainable, and faster separations across a diverse range of analytical challenges. Innovations in column technology, packing methods, and instrumentation have been central to these improvements. This presentation will explore various approaches to achieving highly efficient and rapid separations, spanning capillary to analytical scale workflows. Capillary column efficiencies reaching up to 500,000 plates per meter, and a reduced plate height of 1, as well as rapid separations for small molecules and co-formulated monoclonal antibodies in only a few minutes using superficially porous particles, will be discussed. These examples highlight the evolving landscape of LC, enabling faster, more efficient, and sustainable separations, and support adoption in both research and regulated industries.
