Information

This talk deals with the design and synthesis of the plasmon-enhanced fluorescence and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) probes. Special attention should be paid to the difference in the structures of these two types of probes due to the different roles of surface plasmon resonance. Next, the optical probes have been integrated into paper lateral flow assays to improve sensitivity and anti-interference. In addition, a plasmon separation unit has been incorporated into microfluidic paper strips to enable whole blood testing, eliminating pre-treatment of samples. The opto-microfluidic paper strips have been successfully used for testing acute diseases such as traumatic brain injury, HIV and COVID-19 in point-of-care settings.
