[09 March] Workshop on Angkuoch, Cambodian Mouth Harp by Cultural Experiences Cambodia

As a part of the 2024 Meeting Point Programme, Cultural Experiences Cambodia (CEC) is organizing its local gathering – titled Workshop on Angkuoch, Cambodian Mouth Harp – on Saturday, March 9, 2024, 8:30 am to 11:30 am at EFEO in Siem Reap under the theme of community’s roles in reviving an endangered music in the case of Angkuoch Dek for Siem Reap Community.

The gathering is conducted particularly for distinctive background people living in Siem Reap in the aim for them to further learn about Angkuoch Dek, the rare Cambodian musical instrument, how it is important to Siem Reap community as a whole and what roles the community in the name of individual can play to support it.

The gathering will have researchers to share more information on Angkuoch Dek, the masters to share their stories around Angkuoch Dek and to teach how to play it. The gathering will allow the participants to ask and discuss and present their ideas on Angkuoch Dek’s role in community and their roles in supporting it.

The gathering is expected that after the gathering, the participants would be able:

- To gain further knowledge on Angkuoch

- To understand the values of arts, especially Angkuoch

- To address their commitment to support Angkuoch Dek

- To build a better network through this gathering
