Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) is the worldwide leader in evidence-based de-escalation and crisis prevention training and dementia care services. 

We’ve helped train more than 15 million people within the education, behavioural health, mental health, health care, social care, security, corporate and retail sectors. 

CPI teaches professionals the skills to identify, prevent, and de-escalate crisis behaviour in the workplace. With distinct levels of training, CPI offers solutions for every role and behaviour risk level, in every organisation. 

How it works: Designated staff register for an instructor certification program or schedule an onsite training program at their organisation. 

We train you: The selected staff learn techniques in crisis prevention and intervention and become certified to train others in their organisation. 

After training, CPI continues to support staff with classroom materials and ongoing consultation. We enable you to combine our evidence-based practices with your organisation’s policies and procedures to ensure that training is consistent across your organisation. 

In any given year, our 38,000 active Certified Instructors serve over 17,000 facilities worldwide. Globally, three thousand people participate in our training each day with programmes including Safety Intervention, Verbal Intervention, CH-3 Holding Skills for Essential Care & Treatment, Dementia Capable Care and Classroom Culture.
