Information

Able Seaton Port (ASP), Hartlepool, is well established as probably the UK’s leading offshore wind installation port. This follows around £100m investment over the last decade in new quays, buildings and plant.

ASP completed (January 2019) the provision of the installation base for the foundation package for Ørsted’s 1,200MW Hornsea One offshore wind farm. It is currently engaged with Mitsubishi Vestas Offshore Wind to provide the base for the installation of the 90 turbines that will comprise RWE’s Triton Knoll wind farm. From late 2022 GE will be based at ASP for the installation of the 190 Haliade-X 13MW turbines for the SSE/Equinor Dogger Bank wind farm (projects A and B).

ABLE has pioneered an innovative business model that meets the needs of the offshore wind sector.  To this end, ABLE provides a fixed lump sum price for both the use of the facility and the provision of the onshore logistics required by the project.

By combining its appetite for growth, capacity and resource to invest, market position, contacts and its experience and track record, ABLE is working to develop the fully consented Able Marine Energy Park (AMEP) on the South Bank of the Humber.

AMEP has been designed to specifically meet the demanding and specialist requirements of the offshore wind sector with 1,288m of heavy-duty, deep-water quays supported by a hinterland of over 550 acres.
