The origin of the organisation started in 1892 with the formation of William Hackett Chains. The name ‘William Hackett’ has been used synonymous with the manufacturing and distributing of chain products ever since.

In 1989 a lifting equipment division was established in Alnwick, Northumberland. This business is now operated by William Hackett Lifting Products Limited. It is a global supplier of 'below the hook' lifting equipment. Market conditions, regulatory requirements and customer needs change constantly, and to survive for over 125 years William Hackett has had to adapt, diversify and invest in its products and resources in order to provide an exceptional service. We are strengthened by the knowledge and skills that we have within the organisation. However there is still a need to advance through co-operation and strategic long-term partnerships with our suppliers around the world around the world whose manufacturing capabilities and products complement our own.

This business philosophy enables us to supply a wide range of quality products, as well as being able to tailor products to meet specific customer requirements. William Hackett supplies their lifting products through their global distribution network into the oil and gas, renewables and offshore sector.
