New Mexico Credentialing Board For Behavioral Health Professionals, INC.
Information
Welcome to NMCBBHP!
NMCBBHP is a member of the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium/Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse (IC&RC) for the purpose of testing and credentialing qualified alcohol and drug counselors, criminal justice professionals, and prevention specialists. Through NMCBBHP certification and renewals, we ensure that professionals are maintaining continuing education requirements and ethical standards of care for their clients. The Board is responsible for the credentialing of the New Mexico Certified Peer Support Workers.
In November 2020, NMCBBHP moved to an online platform called Certemy. This site allows behavioral health professionals, including CPSWs, to register for certification, apply for testing, and apply for recertification.
Effective February 17, 2021, CPSW testing will be done online 24/7 or if preferred, in person at designated sites. The Office of Peer Recovery and Engagement will send all peers who completed the OPRE CPSW training the information necessary to register on Certemy.
