Forward Flag
Information
Forward Flag is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that serves military veterans, veteran families and friends of our military service members. The organization was founded in 2013 by fellow veterans, Roger Pipkins & Joh McGill. Forward Flag’s initial mission was to help prevent veteran suicide in rural and underserved areas in New Mexico. This was accomplished by traveling the state raising awareness and offering preventative measures. Forward Flag has expanded this mission to engage our Veterans to become focused on being healthy, productive and successful members of society, as well as building a strong network of peersupport.
Since our inception in 2013, Forward Flag has continued with our mission of suicide prevention education utilizing the QPR curriculum and veteran outreach touring the state in our 42’ Bluebird. In addition, our Albuquerque-based wellness center offers a variety of free activities for veterans, their family members and friends; including service dog training, yoga, art, guitar and outdoor adventure activities. In 2020, Forward Flag opened up its second wellness center in Rogersville where co-founder, Roger Pipkins continues to serve as the leader and heart of the organization.
