Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting ProjectThe Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) is both an investigative journalism platform and an independent media ecosystem that helps the public hold power to account. Our global network covers six continents and consists of 45 editors, 55 media centers, and 3 regional partners, as well as 60 publishing partners including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Le Monde, Süddeutsche Zeitung, and the Guardian. We publish 120+ stories a year, providing governments and the civil society with the information they need to change policy and deliver justice. In 2020, we have been recognized for their work with a Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship and last year, the Secretary of State Antony Blinken backed our Global Anti-Corruption Consortium with Transparency International, issuing a call to the rest of the world to join it during the Summit for Democracy. We are now preparing a new product called Reporters Shield, which is designed to protect independent media worldwide from abusive and vexatious lawsuits, also known as SLAPPs.
