NTS - National Tax Service

The National Tax Service is the tax organization in South Korea and is run under the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The headquarters are in Sejong City.

NTS has two whistleblower reward programs to crack down on tax fraud. One program, Tax Evasion Informant Reward Program, enacted in 1951, provides the highest award percentage of all NTS reward programs. The other program, Foreign Financial Account Informant Reward Program, established in 2012, covering foreign accounts. Whistleblowers have been awarded over the total of 67 billion KRW (about USD 54 million) in the last 5 years in South Korea, with the number of cases filed by whistleblowers increasing each year.
