‘Ethical by design and sustainable by nature.’
In the fashion world Jianhui is best known for the sophistication of his sustainble fashion accessories which combines art, elegance and practical design.
Yet Jianhui’s creative journey began in a rural village in one of the poorest areas of China, Jianhui (pronounced Janway), which means building a splendid life, was given this name by his mother who hoped that one day her son would achieve great things. As a child Jianhui would spend his days in the mountains where he became fascinated by the colourful display of bright pink, purple and orange flowers, which were in total contrast to the grey and impoverish life that he led.
After moving to London he became inspired by the City and it’s people. He picked up second-hand pieces in Portobello Road and began recreating the beautiful flowers that had once captured his young imagination and soon Jianhui London was born.
Today using ethically sourced and recycled sustainable materials, Jianhui continues to be inspired by nature and his handmade eco friendly designs can be found in high-end fashion boutiques such as Joan Shepp. He is loved by style icons such as Iris Apfel and Lily Tomlin, and has worked with prestigious institutions such as MAD (Museum of Arts and Design), MoMA (Museum of Modern Art NY) and Detroit Institute of Art.
