Theatre Scrub Practitioner

We have a total of 19 operating rooms which cover different specialities ranging from General surgery, Trauma and orthopaedics, Bariatrics and upper GI surgery, Colorectal, Gynaecology, Urology, Oncology, Paediatrics, Maxilo Facial, ENT, Vascular and Plastic/ Breast surgery. Our new surgery and cancer facility will open in 2020 which will offer further career opportunities such as in the field of proton beam therapy. Working as a Theatre SCRUB Practitioner you will be required to function effectively as a member of the peri-operative team to ensure the provision and development of an efficient and high quality surgical service. You will also have a broad knowledge and skill base including communication and team working skills, in order that you contribute to the smooth running of the theatre department. Opportunities are available to rotate in areas such as Main Theatres, Day Surgery Unit, Macmillan Cancer Centre, and EGA Obstetric Theatres. We are committed to ongoing professional development and opportunities exist to undertake a wide range of in-house and university based training programme. The successful candidate will hold the appropriate qualifications to be a current registered practitioner (RGN or ODP) and demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development. Newly qualified Operating Department Practitioners (ODP) are also encouraged to apply.
