Band 6 CAMHS Nurse
Mental health nursing
Information
We are looking for Band 6 Nurses to join our compassionate and friendly in-patient team within our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) . No previous CAMHS experience required. Golden hello or relocation expenses of £2000. Full or part-time hours available.
Chalkhill Hospital is a modern , purpose built 16 bedded facility located in Haywards Heath, West Sussex. We are the only NHS Tier 4 C.A.M.H.S. in-patient service in Sussex and offer a unique and rewarding experience supporting young people to recover at a critical time in their development so they have the best chance to succeed in life. You will be working primarily on our in-patient ward, and will also gain experience in our Health Based Place of Safety (for young people detained under section 136 of the Mental Health Act). You will develop a broad range of skills supporting young people experiencing low mood, OCD, autism, eating disorders, emotional difficulties and psychosis.
If you have not previously worked in CAMHS, don't worry! Many of your skills from other acute settings will be transferable and we will provide training to meet any learning needs identified in your appraisal.
You will be closely supported by our Ward Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist and other Charge Nurses, to lead the nursing team in maintaining high standards of care, providing evidence based practice, and implementing practice development initiatives.
We understand that looking after our staff's health and well-being leads to safer services and better experiences for our young people, and so actively promote supervision, reflection, training opportunities and team away days. We are always looking for different ways to support our staff and, for example, are currently offering free acupuncture sessions.
We are located just 20 minutes away from Brighton, and are extremely fortunate to have both the seaside and the Sussex Downs National Park on our doorstep.
