As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner you will collaborate with Consultants and the multi disciplinary team to provide direct patient care within a specialist surgical hospital and support the Director of Advanced Practice in delivering key performance targets.
You will be:
• Able to conduct thorough medical histories, performs complete physical examinations, initiates appropriate lab, imaging tests or other special tests
• Able to perform routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, blood draws, designated IV starts, managing simple conditions produced by infection or trauma
• Able to perform medication reconciliation and prescribes medication according to CCL policy, and within the independent prescribers scope of practice
• Participating in medical team rounds
• Performing specialized procedures following approval by CCL Credentialing Committee, such as biopsies, spinal taps, thoracentesis, paracentesis or other specific procedures
• The holder of a Bachelors Degree in Nursing
• The holder of a Masters Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice
• Able to show significant experience working as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in a hospital setting and show a depth of experience within at least one, but preferably multiple of the following surgical specialisms: Neuro and Spine; Digestive Disease; Heart, Vascular, and Thoracic; or Orthopaedic surgical populations
