Band 5 and Band 6 nurses who would like to gain experience at Garden House Hospice Care for eight months, before rotating to the acute hospital for 4 months, working in oncology and related areas please read on…
Continue your NHS Pension and your Continuous Professional Development whilst experiencing both community and acute nursing placements. You will be nursing on the In-Patient Unit, where there is a high staff to patient ratio, for six months. You will also spend 2 months split across Day Services, Education team, Family Support Services and Community.
Whilst with Garden House Hospice Care, you will have an opportunity to work in the renowned Hawthorne Centre, undertaking satisfying pre-habilitative and rehabilitative work with our amazing physiotherapists, occupational therapists, counsellors, nurses and volunteers. Your experience will not stop there, we will also support you to follow through care to the Community Hubs to see the Hawthorne Centre work in action in the community.
Garden House Hospice Care has an impressive In-Patient Unit that will offer you a unique nursing opportunity to support all ages of adults from patients controlling their symptoms and going home, to the privilege of nursing at end of life.
The final placement will be working with the Hospice at Home team in the community and with the education team in the Hospice to pull your memorable eight months at Garden House Hospice Care into a portfolio to envy.
