NHS Blood & Transplant

We provide blood and transplantation service to the NHS. This includes enrolling new donors, managing donations, storage and transplantation of blood, organs, tissues, bone marrow and stem cells, and researching new treatments and processes.

We make sure there is the right blood available for patients throughout the year. To do this we run local & national campaigns: 

• To encourage people to sign up as blood donors and start saving lives.

• To encourage existing donors to continue donating.

 

Talking to the public and answering any queries & eligibility criteria is at the heart of what our team do. Why not come along to our blood donor registration events and find out how easy it is to register and give blood – it only takes 5 minutes.

After you have made your first donation, you will discover your blood type.
