The Guardians of the Mountain
XR Art Fair: projects
Information
Synopsis : As the mountains collapsed, their inhabitants held them back. They learned to speak the language of the rock and to invoke the power of the elements. These guardians, animals (including humans !) and plants, have been taking turns to keep the living alive. Will you take over?
The Guardians is a transmission ritual. The audience is immersed in a fictional story to learn the language of a mountain and its powers. In the end, they will have to take anoath to become a protector of these peaks. The participants will discover in this work that animals and plants have been taking turns for thousands of years to preserve the
mountain, like a holonbionte , in symbiosis with its place of life.
Sitting in a circle, with headphones on, the experience is a journey of sensory wonder thanks to a unique spatialized sound, an interactive light sculpture made by an art craftsman, and an immersive writing that places you at the heart of the story. During the whole experience, the eyes are closed, the public is encouraged to use their imagination
to appropriate the story, while perceiving lights through their eyelids.
It is an immersive sensory installation
The Guardians of the Mountain is an immersive work. Contrary to a podcast, it is experienced in person, in a dedicated installation and it puts the participant in action. He lives the story, finds himself immersed in a soundscape, while embodying an actor of
change. The sound, entirely spatialized, participates in the deployment of a strong imagination that suggests images without imposing them. The tactile and mineral dimension, with a stone in the hand, allows both to create a link between the real and the fictional, and aims to address the theme of resistance through direct contact with materials that form our mountains.
