In The Eyes Of The Beholding Goat

Selected XR Development Market

Information

‘In the eyes of the beholding goat’ is a political artwork criticizing the way the Israeli authorities manipulate the narratives to serve their political interests. Especially in the approach towards the Palestinians and the occupied territories. The true story of the ‘Black goat law’ as it unfolds from the days of the British mandate till today, is being used as a parable to the political reality in Israel.

The story is being told both in animation and sound, and is projected via AR masks over historical photographs of Palestine (19th century to 1940). The masks are designed as a goat head.

While viewers are wearing the masks, they are becoming the protagonists of the work and engage the space by creating a performance of goats roaming around viewing an exhibition of historical photography.
