Information
Located in the heart of California's Silicon Valley, the Computer History Museum (CHM) has the largest general collection of computer history materials in the world, including hardware, software, documents, data, and moving images. Over 3000 square meters of exhibits include our permanent exhibition “Revolution: The First 2000 Years of Computing,” which covers information technology from the abacus to the iPhone. Our software exhibition focuses on how software touches the lives of ordinary people around the world, from texting to MP3. Both are also available online. Rotating exhibits cover hot topics from autonomous vehicles to AI-mediated art. Our Education programs serve students, educators, and the general public, and include two educational computer games for children and teenagers. CHM has a dynamic public events program, both live and in-person, and with major media partners.
