Container Past + Present + Future

Nearly a decade ago, Docker, containers and Kubernetes spawned the now ubiquitous cloud-native ecosystem. This talk will look back at the context in which these projects began, their origin stories and what motivated their development. It will fast-forward to the present time where cloud-native is now a mature approach and set of tools used by developers from many different backgrounds and companies. It will cover the new challenges that have arisen and the old challenges that remain. Finally it will look forward into the future and discuss the open areas where further innovation will continue to reinvent and reshape what it means to be cloud-native.
