Get Out of Your Bubble!

"Get Out Of Your Bubble!" is a fun, game show based diversity orientation program. It is designed to show that difference and diversity are not just inevitable states of being, but that they are necessary elements for any healthy culture. Additionally, no matter their orientation, you are a series of cultural touch points that go far deeper than the cosmetic markers that we too often get caught in. By seeing themselves and each other through what we call "Micro-literacies" we hope to give them a healthier orientation point to address some of the larger differences.LEARNING OUTCOMES* Participants will learn Diversity is far from just cosmetic. It is the range of differences that everyone embodies.* All those identities are constantly emerging and in flux.* If you are not in the dominant cultural group. Your cultural story tends to get marginalized or compromised* The lack of exposure to different cultural groups often leads to stereotyping, and at their worst, that can lead to hateful and sometimes violent incidents.
