Reading for Accessibility & Inclusion

The Ferguson Library was recently awarded an IMLS Laura Bush planning grant focused on improving libraries’ services for people with disabilities and reading barriers. The grant will develop educational resources for library workers across the country which will lead to improved library services. For the NELA conference audience, we plan to share the scope, timeline, statistical profile data and early draft of the learning portal. We will also host an informal focus group to understand current awareness of resources for those with print disabilities and gain a better understanding of the learning and training needs of New England library workers.
