Recycle, Upcycle, Lifecycle: Sustainability in Libraries

Sustainability and resilience are becoming increasingly important principles to incorporate into library services and buildings. Massachusetts has set ambitious goals and standards for decreasing carbon emissions in the next 30 years, and libraries have a role in demonstrating and educating the public in how to reach those goals. All three of our panelists are contributing authors to the book “Libraries & Sustainability: Programs and Practices for Community Impact,” recently published by ALA Editions. We will outline a range of concrete ways librarians can bring these concepts to their communities.
