Building Community Centered Programs & Value Propositions
Information
Ongoing analysis and observations (imls- LG-96-18-240-18) suggest that it is reasonable to conclude that public libraries make substantial contributions to the prosperity and well-being of their communities, as well as a healthy return on investment. And although this trend is likely to continue, it is also clear that both libraries and communities have changed over the last two years in ways that are likely to shift priorities. This presentation uses two case studies to provide a better understanding of how important community engagement can be in meeting these challenges and a clear picture of how public information and two straightforward perspectives, the Jobs to be Done process and the 8 Forms of Currency model developed by the Appleseed Permaculture Organization, can be used to create profitable partnerships, streamline processes, and update ideas about value.
