

Inclusive Readers Advisory for Any Library Worker

Patrons will ask for book recommendations of anyone who works in a library. Readers advisory is a skill that anyone who works in a library can learn, regardless of their title. In this presentation, library workers will learn hints and tips for providing readers advisory even if they aren’t an expert on the subject or genre in question. Libraries will learn how to develop on-demand resources that anyone on staff can use to help patrons find their next great title. These resources will include both those that can be used in active conversation, in person and virtually, as well as passive resources. Attendees will also learn how to insure that they provide diverse and inclusive readers advisory, skills that will help improve library services as a whole.
