Information

Raymond Library has had the opportunity to add over 70 Discovery (STEM) Kits to our circulation. The purpose of this program is to introduce fellow librarians to ideas and resources for creating and implementing their own STEM/Discovery Kits. Upon completion of the session, attendees will have a variety of resources for budgeting, creating, and cataloging their own kits.Discovery Kits are thematic sets of books, activities, games, and resources that provide new educational opportunities to the town’s residents. Families, homeschool groups, and educators can check out kits to enhance and enrich their students’ education. The goal of our Discovery Kits is to provide a unique learning opportunity that brings families together, while also supporting the curriculum standards. By establishing a circulating collection of kits, the service will have a broad impact that benefits a larger number of individuals and encourages collaboration between families, educators, and homeschool groups.
