Problem Programming: It Happened to Us!

The media coverage of censorship has mainly been focused on book challenges, but the reality is that it’s not just books that are getting banned. What do you do when one of your programs gets challenged? In this panel, we will discuss the realities of controversial programming as well as discussing creative solutions and best practices for overcoming these challenges, specifically focusing on a recent Drag Story Hour that was challenged at the library. After attending this session, participants will be able to identify potential solutions and strategies for addressing the challenge and create a communication plan to minimize the abuse that staff receives.
