Drafting a Diversity Plan

During the creation of their most recent CT State Library LSTA Five Year Plan (2023-2027), the Division of Library Development (DLD) committed to drafting a separate yet integrated diversity plan that includes a contextual statement to situate the need, action items to change the work, and term definitions to create a shared, common language. DLD knows that it is not only the institution’s responsibility to shift culture and practice; as stewards of the CT library community, it is the institution’s responsibility to prioritize ongoing social justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (SJDEIA) professional development and education to build and maintain the new foundation needed to enable lasting systemic change. This session will walk attendees through the steps taken to draft the DLD Diversity Plan and prepare to engage in the work.
