Project Pitch
Caju Afrique is an integrated regenerative agroforestry, agro-processing, and eco-tourism investment project located in Cabo Mangorro, Inharrime District, Inhambane Province, Mozambique. Developed by Investagro, the project combines sustainable cashew production, youth incubation, premium agro-tourism, and value-added processing within a circular economy model.
The project is structured around three integrated pillars: (i) a regenerative eco-lodge and gourmet agro-tourism destination with waterfront bungalows, eco-houses, events and training facilities integrated into 30ha of native riverbank forest; (ii) an 80ha syntropic cashew orchard with 5,500 trees, diversified intercrops, poultry, aquaculture, and incubation of 50 young agripreneurs per year; and (iii) Mozambique’s first semi-artisanal cashew apple vinegar factory and logistics hub, transforming underutilized cashew apples into premium products for domestic and export markets.
The total investment is estimated at approximately USD 3.8 million, covering infrastructure, processing equipment, mechanization, solar energy systems, certification, training, and working capital. The project is currently raising blended finance through equity, concessional debt, grants, and strategic partnerships. A USD 750,000 FCID grant is already in the final approval phase, while additional funding is sought for expansion, processing technology, renewable energy, and export market development.
