GENIA is part of the McAirlaid’s group, who is a manufacturer of binder free absorption materials and develops products for the food packaging, medical and hygiene industry. McAirlaid’s offers a unique nonwoven airlaid, which is produced without any glues or binders in production facilities in USA and Germany. After years of research and development, McAirlaid’s developed the GENIA filter media for the tobacco industry and alternative markets, which is completely free of plastic and made with 100% virgin cellulose and therefore fully biodegradable and compostable within weeks. GENIA filters are also suitable for pre-rolled cones and hemp cigarettes as we are able to make filters with a very low pressure drop ensuring nothing goes to waste whilst smoking. The filters can be customised in length and diameter and come in bleached and unbleached colours.
