ENEA is a public body aimed at research, technological innovation and the provision of advanced services to enterprises, public administration and citizens in the sectors of energy, the environment and sustainable economic development.

ENEA has highly qualified personnel, advanced laboratories, experimental facilities and excellent instruments for the realisation of projects, studies, tests, assessments, analyses and training services, with particular reference to product and process innovation and the valorisation of results to contribute to the development and competitiveness of the national economic system.

The strategic objectives of ENEA Territorial and Production Systems Sustainability Department (SSPT) are:

• to contribute to the valorization of economic, natural and social capital, by providing technological and methodological tools for sustainable and competitive growth and improvement of citizens life quality;

• to support Policy elaboration and implementation promoting the reduction of emissions, the mitigation of climate change effects, the transition towards innovative economic models (circular economy, bioeconomy, blue economy).

The activities of the ENEA Territorial and Production Systems Sustainability Department (SSPT) are aimed at:

• Competitiveness of production systems, innovation and job opportunities

• Valorisation, management and protection of the environment

• Quality of life, nutrition and public health

• Urban and local regeneration

In this context, the Department (and in particular the Labs MET-CLIM and BIOAG-SOQUAS) serves as scientific coordination of MED-GOLD H2020 Project where tailored climate information for developing prototype climate services in agriculture by developing case studies and solutions for three staples of the Mediterranean food system: grape, olive and durum wheat
