DCOOP is a Spanish second degree agrifood cooperative, with more than 200 first degree agifood cooperatives associated owned by 75.000 farmers and stockbreeders. Dcoop, located in Antequera (Malaga, Spain), is the biggest olive oil and table olives producer in the world and Spanish leader in goat milk and wine production, in addition to operating supply, stock breeding, nuts, and cereals sectors. DCOOP, as second degree cooperative, is presented in all steps of the value chain (from the crops to commercialization) of olive oil, table olives, olive paste, nuts, wine, goat milk, pig, beef cattle, and cereals what have allowed Dcoop to know the needs of these sectors and work on it.
The R&D&i department of Dcoop has been working for more than 10 years in finding suitable technology or practice to improve all sectors increasing the rentability of our associated farmers and stockbreeders and the quality of products for our consumers. All these work through the use of by-products and development of circular bioeconomy, improvement, and optimization of processes through technological innovation and the use of systems for integrated control and management of the entire value chain (Big Data, Internet of Things, etc.) and development of new innovative products aimed at providing health benefits and with high added value properties for the consumer. As a result, Dcoop was awarded the prize for the most innovative cooperative in the digitalisation and ICT category by COPA-COGECA in 2017 and in 2021 has been awarded by Cooperativa Agro-alimentarias de España as the most Spanish innovative cooperative.
