The National Observatory of Athens (NOA) is a research center operating since1842 covering the fields of Astrophysics, Space applications, Environment, Climate research, Energy, Meteorology and Geodynamics. The Institute for Environmental Research and Sustainable Development (IERSD) is one of three Institutes of the National Observatory of Athens and its activities include climate change, hydrology & natural resources management, air quality and energy saving.
The IERSD team involved in MEDGOLD project focuses on studies of the past, current and future climate trends and extremes, on the assessment of the environmental and social impacts of climate change and on adaptation and mitigation measures.
