Our purpose

Light is the source of life. In addition to the sensory perception of over 90% through our eyes, light also influences us in terms of well-being, health, performance and safety. SLG stands for the professional examination and understanding of the complexity of the phenomenon of light.

Our main activities

• organising national and international conferences
• Processing and condensing current information for the attention of members, other professional organisations and the public.
• organising training and further education events
• Drawing up and updating Swiss and European standards and guidelines for indoor and outdoor lighting.
• Participation in energy promotion programmes of the Swiss government and cooperation with other professional associations and organisations.
