DAY 2 | Perspectives on retrofitting in practice

Retrofitting vast numbers of homes and building across the country is a huge issue as we move towards net zero, but the primary challenge is how to do it at scale and pace. What funding is available for retrofit? What is the guidance from central government?

What has been learnt from the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund Demonstrator? How can councils effectively work with social and private landlords, and support home and building owners with retrofit projects? Is the lack of retrofit skills the main limitation and how can this skills gap be addressed?

We’ll also look at the wider private owned housing stock, and the barriers to retrofitting, including financing options, incentives for home-owners, and skills shortages.
