Clean technologies accelerating competitiveness in JTF regions
Information
Regional competitiveness plays a key role in establishing decarbonised economies, making it a priority of the European Commission. Investing in clean technologies is an effective strategy to transform the economy of coal and carbon-intensive regions while simultaneously enhancing their competitiveness. Businesses – from SMEs to large companies – are central to this effort and can offer expertise in developing clean technology value chains. This session aims to highlight their pivotal role in successful JTF implementation and in fostering regional competitiveness. Panellists will explore the ways in which businesses can get involved in clean technology development, from using the JTF to invest in clean technologies, to taking a central role in revitalising the regional economy and working with authorities to develop innovative value chains.
