For over 60 years, the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) has been a world-class HPC centre providing top-tier IT infrastructure to a diverse scientific community, from students to renowned researchers, across disciplines like astrophysics, engineering, life sciences, and digital humanities. Located in Garching near Munich, LRZ is a leading HPC and HPDA facility offering national and European-level supercomputing resources. It supports users with specialised HPC code portability and scalability expertise while ensuring energy-efficient operations. LRZ is also at the forefront of future computing, exploring quantum technologies and integrating AI into large-scale HPC systems. Alongside its role as a national centre within the Gauss Centre for Supercomputing (GCS), LRZ serves as the IT backbone for Munich universities and Bavarian research organisations, complemented by extensive education programmes in HPC, AI and big data.
