Information

With the recent emergence of large language models like ChatGPT, there’s no doubt that research tech stacks in 2024 will look very different than they did in 2022. Colossal AI systems known as “Foundation Models” have huge potential to advance research undertaken by scientists across fields as diverse as novel protein design, particle physics simulation and fake news detection. Graphcore, creators of the Intelligence Processing Unit (IPU), have been at the forefront of this shift, helping scientists leverage Foundation Models to achieve improved results much faster for their own research projects. In this talk, Graphcore’s Alex Titterton will cover new innovations in Foundation Models, large language model use cases and how researchers can harness their potential to fuel research success.
