At ISC 2023 Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH (TEE) will be in attendance on booth D409 with a number of interactive and informative live demonstrations. Technical staff will be available to discuss these demos and give advice on effective ways to plan and grow cloud storage systems.

he showcase demonstration will be a high-density JBOD with a 78-bay top loader featuring the new 20TB hard drives from Toshiba’s MG series and offering a storage capacity measured in petabytes.

Further live demo setups will cover the random access performance scaling of storage architectures with hard disk drives. Although the single HDD is rather limited in IOPS, systems with multiple HDDs installed will scale into the 10k IOPS range.

Select Toshiba partners (including Broadcom) will also be available on the booth to discuss their products that are part of the live demonstrations.

Join Rainer W. Kaese, Senior Manager Business Development Storage Products at Toshiba, on Monday 22 May at 6pm in Hall H, Booth K1001 (Ground Floor) taking listeners on a journey of HDD development from 1982 – 2062. He will look back at the 40-year history of HDD technology and also dare to look forwards at a similar four-decade window, predicting what HDDs will be capable of in the second half of the century. The concept of HDD resilience will be pivotal, and help to explain why HDDs will remain a major contributor to next generation cloud storage deployments.
