Information
This presentation addresses the following topic(s):
In this session, Sven Breuner, Field CTO International at VAST Data, will explore the full power of VAST’s Universal Storage architecture, how it redefines resilience, flash economics QoS and just about everything else you thought you knew about data storage with its single, consolidated flash cloud–for all your data.
Throughout, Sven will detail how VAST’s multi-protocol support enables NFS/SMB and S3 access to that very same data, paving the way for big data and cloud-native applications in workflows with classic filed-based applications, and will highlight how VAST’s object-based access allows convenient on-premises data access for cloud-bursting. Finally, attendees can expect a deep dive into VAST’s mission to democratize fast access to all data and how that reimagined access can enable Machine Learning and HPC on the same system.
- When is cloud more efficient than on-premises computing, and vice versa? How should these hybrid environments be managed? (Alternately: Discuss the efficiencies and inefficiencies of operating all on-prem, all cloud, and hybrid.)
- Machine learning and HPC: Each worthy of its own investment, or better together? (Alternately: Marriage for the ages, or heading for divorce?)
- Specialization vs. standardization: How do you maximize specific application performance without creating silos?
