Quick, flexible, scalable: Ramping up PCR testing with HPC from FORSIT Group and the Open Telekom Cloud

Fast and highly sensitive, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests are an important tool in fighting the corona virus pandemic. It was necessary to create a secure digital platform to manage the testing process digitally and quickly increase access to testing centers for the population in Germany. FORSIT Group provided IT support for the project, developing a responsive web presence including a connected software platform. The flexible platform for medical processes, results generation, and signing, which is now used at numerous COVID-19 test sites and laboratories, was implemented in the Open Telekom Cloud.

The public-cloud solution had to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The IT specialist FORSIT Group relies on the Open Telekom Cloud for data protection and security because all data remains in the European or German legal jurisdiction. The cloud-based software platform can handle several thousand PCR tests a day. If server access increases dramatically at short notice, FORSIT can scale up the platform easily, quickly, and securely.
