Information

The use case presents approach of a software management platform that provides parallel computing services in the HPC environment for advanced grand challenges applications. Everything embedded in a federated distributed cloud environment. The construction of e-infrastructure services includes 8 geographically distributed sites, connected by national fibre optic network with a speed of 100-400 Gbps in full-mesh technology. PRACE-LAB (Cooperation in the field of advanced computing) is an IT project positioned on the Polish Map of Critical Research Infrastructure (adequate to ESFRI roadmaps), providing production based advanced computing and data storage services, supporting the scientific community in Poland and and Europe, and at the same time capable of offering competitive services for industry in the field of cloud computing and cloud data, virtual environments and specialized expertise in the field of cybersecurity. The main goal of the project is to increase the competitiveness of the scientific community and the economy, with particular emphasis on SMEs. The direct goal of the project is to build a widely available HPC (High Performance Computing) computing infrastructure consisting of high-performance computing servers, specialized processing units and flexible data management systems, and to provide scientific units and enterprises based on this infrastructure with services for research and development. The e-infrastructure (cloud /data and HPC) will be connected to the national academic PIONIER network and the European GÉANT.
