Dementias Platform UK (DPUK) is a programme that over 10 years has created a free-to-access, world-leading, high-quality research environment. Our platform provides researchers with access to resources to make delivery easier, better and faster.
We focus on three key human-centred areas: the DPUK Data Portal, Trials Delivery Framework, and Experimental Medicine Incubator.
This infrastructure of services and facilities is helping dementia researchers to identify early signs of disease and support the translation of discoveries and insights into new treatments.
• The DATA PORTAL: Optimised health research data from 3.5m people in 85 datasets (including imaging and stem cell hubs). We have had more than 2,000 data access applications. Through our curation of these data it is AI-ready.
• The TRIALS DELIVERY FRAMEWORK matches the right people to the right project and through a UK-wide network of 78 locations and registers of >70,000 volunteers study development quick and easy. Our Great Minds register alone has a growing community of over 12,000 participants - a valuable asset of highly characterised individuals.
• Experimental Medicine Incubator Cutting-edge experimental studies.
We are funded by the Medical Research Council and NIHR with partners across industry working on a pre-competitive basis.
