We have always believed that business success and sustainability go hand in hand. We have put sustainability at the heart of our vision for our business and want to grow in a way that manages our social and environmental impacts and contributes to a better future.
We are doing this through our sustainability action plan which we call This is Forward. The plan was developed through consultation with all our stakeholders and prioritises the six key areas where we can make the biggest difference. In each area, we have made a number of commitments that align with the targets underpinning the UN Sustainable Development Goals, providing us with a clear direction of how we intend to work with partners across our value chain.
This is Forward sets out our ambition to reach net zero by 2040 and to reduce our absolute greenhouse gas emissions across our value chain by 30% by 2030 (vs 2019). The world is at a critical point and we must all play our part to limit global temperature increases to protect the future of our planet. That’s why our net zero ambition has been approved by the Science-Based Targets initiative as being in line with a 1.5˚C reduction pathway recommended by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
