Haffner Energy launches HYNOCA®, a major game-changer technology for green hydrogen production. Hynoca generates hydrogen by Steam Biomass Reforming.
The first industrial unit is currently being commissioned in France, with a production of 250 tons of hydrogen per year, enough to fuel 1,600 cars traveling 10,000 miles per year. Hynoca can use almost all types of biomass, such as agricultural or forestry residues, but also organic waste. The biomass is converted into hydrogen by a patented steam reformer, achieving the mobility quality requirements. Hynoca is the most environmentally friendly ready-to-market hydrogen production technology. Hynoca is, according to a market study carried by Ernst & Young (EY) in April 2021, by far the most advanced solution in the world to produce hydrogen from biomass.
