Founded in Switzerland in 1968, Zühlke has delivered 10,000+ innovation, software, and hardware initiatives for organisations in complex and regulated areas like healthcare.

Our very first project was a MedTech innovation in dentistry. Healthcare and MedTech have been at the heart of our business ever since.

In the UK we are best known for designing and building the NHS COVID-19 app. It was the first certified mobile medical device in the UK and used the latest Google and Apple technology to alert those most at risk without breaching individual privacy. Over the last 12 months we have increased our involvement in both the NHS and MedTech in the UK. In 2022 we started working with a number of MedTech firms in areas like cognitive impairment, cancer recovery and blood testing. Our larger current clients include NHSD/E (NHSApp), Royal Pharmaceutical Society (data publishing) and Public Health Wales (screening services).

Our core skills are in tackling complex business, product and software issues. Specifically we have a strong agile approach to the delivery of Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), managing complex data for the benefit of healthcare and regulatory compliant, explainable AI/ML solutions for diagnosis, and mobile apps.

We have a separate organisation, Zühlke Ventures, that currently supports 15 high-tech start-ups in the MedTech industry from early stage to exit.
