Nascent Semi
Information
Based in Durham in the North East of England, UK, Nascent Semiconductor leverages over 25 years of experience in wide band gap semiconductors, particularly silicon carbide.
The company specialise in enabling high reliability electronics in hostile, high temperature, high radiation environments where conventional semiconductors cannot function.
From discrete wafer level devices through to electronic systems, Nascent Semiconductor offers design consultancy, industrial training, and manufactured components to key stakeholders in aerospace, space, defence and civil nuclear. Harnessing its knowledge of the unique material properties of silicon carbide, Nascent Semiconductor is developing the design, fabrication, and integration of robust, all solid-state quantum sensors into electronic devices.
These technologies provide the basis to a strategically and economically significant UK sovereign capability in position navigation and timing, including all solid state miniaturised magnetometry; and a quantum analogue to the atomic clock, currently in development for end-user trials in 2025.
