The material and chemical industries remain heavily dependent on fossil-based raw materials, with limited transparency and significant environmental impact. Fibenol was established to address this challenge by building a scalable, bio-based alternative rooted in deep industrial expertise.

Fibenol is built by owners with more than 20 years of experience in the wood and forest industry. This background shapes both our technology choices and our practical, industrial mindset. We focus on upgrading low-quality hardwood and underutilised wood streams into high-value biomaterials, creating significantly more value from existing forest resources without competing with higher-value wood uses.

Fibenol develops and produces bio-based material building blocks from sustainably sourced wood. Our technology platform converts lignocellulosic biomass into industrially relevant products that can replace fossil-based chemicals in applications across materials, chemicals, construction, and infrastructure.

With the completion of the Fibenol 1.0 platform, we have established robust processes for wood sugars and lignin products, including Lignova®. These products enable customers to develop bio-based alternatives with predictable performance, quality, and supply reliability.

Fibenol operates a demonstration plant in Estonia that serves as a structured step in our industrial biorefining pathway. The facility supports continuous product development, customer qualification, and process validation, while enabling detailed engineering and planning for full-scale biorefinery production. The transition to industrial biorefining is a defined company objective, with development priorities, resources, and partnerships aligned toward this outcome. All technology and product development is therefore carried out against clear industrial targets, ensuring readiness for large-scale, long-term biorefinery operations.
